Words can not begin to describe how much I love this game, but I'm going to give a non bais review here and point out the good and bad.

This review style won't be common, but this is a quickie since I haven't done anything In a while.

Instead of going down a list of good/bad  I'm going to talk to you (the reader) about the game. Let's get started?

2 Years ago Bioware the master of RPG's created a little game called Mass effect, contraversial in it's "Sex scenes" and new approach to the genre it was easily one of the best games of that year. Combining gears of war esque shooting with RPG elements turned a hit into a blockbuster title.

2 years later Bioware returns to the Mass effect galaxy and Commander Shepards story with Mass effect 2.

Let me start by saying this is a great game. In no means is it "bad" or "not good" it could be GOTY easily. Bioware took everything from the first and made it 20x better. Instead of fixing what wasn't broke they streamlined and fixed many issues, such as the shooting mechanics, the inventory sysytem and dialougue being good/bad/neutral.

What I really applaud them for is the import save feature, where if you played the first game all your choices move over to the next and trust me it's not just a little feature it does have a huge impact and I think this is the way to go with sequels instead of rebooting everything and what you did makes no difference.

The shooting is better and feels more real. Instead of this slow mechanic that felt tacked on they really revamped it so you feel like it's a shooter and an RPG with nothing taken away, but in honesty they did dumb down the stat system. In my opinion it's better? Instead having these little stats that adds 0.5 accuracy every stat means something and you can feel the difference when you add points.

Oh the emotion, the VA is also done better, you feel the emotion in these characters and the choices you make have a big effect on things. They also added these moments where you can choose to preform a renegade/paragon action that changes the dynamics of the scene and story its a really nice touch.

The characters and story are amazing, I do have a problem with it though in the way that alot of things aren't resolved and it feels like this whole game is just a set up for the sequel half the game is gathering teammates and there are only 3 main story missions even at that the game will run you about 30 hours.

Summing this all up, this game is the perfect sequel, do everything better from the first. Innovate and don't break things that work. Improve everything and leave nothing to drop below the standards.

I urge you.

Buy. This. Game. You will not be dissapointed at all.

This review honestly barely scratches the surface of what this game is.

I rarely ever say a game is perfect, but little flaws aside this is the best game of the last couple years.

10/10

Game of the year possible.
