Game Overview - Screenshots - VideosAgain I haven't written in a while and I feel like talking about this game that I have a love for.
Here's a review in there too.
2 years ago Dice did a little experiment on the consoles, bringing the beloved battlefield franchise back to next gen consoles in a game developed solely for them. This game was Battlefield: bad company. A story of a rag-tag group of B-company soldiers who did the dirty work the U.S army didn't want too. They were expendable and all above worthless to everyone, but always pulled through. This game also introduced the Frostbite engine delivering un-matched destruction and game changing mechanics that made it unique.
Fast forward 2 years later to battlefield: bad company 2

Bad company 2 is the latest installment in the series, returning are the good single player campaign and our buddies Haggard, Sweetwater, Reford and Marlowe in an all new adventure and what's battlefield without a multiplayer aspect?
I'll start with the single player. The story follows our heroes going after a bad super weapon that the bad guys want so they can fuck things up. That's the basics. Overall it's decent, leauges ahead of the first. I don't want to go into too much detail since hopefully you aren't buying a battlefield game for the SP, but it is worth a playthrough. My only gripe with it is the pacing. You jump around the world and change the way you play far too much for my tastes. I'm not saying i hate variety, but the way you convey it is the issue here. It also clocks in a little short so once you get into it the thing's over, but I do admit it is one hell of a ride and the characters are never dull and full of flavor. They take alot of pot shots at MW2 and you will laugh at some of the dialougue.
Single player is worth a try, but suffers issues and doesn't really warrant more then one playthrough unless you missed something. Also short. Forgettable, but characters and story make up in areas for it's shortcomings.

Now we come to why you bought the game. Battlefields legendary online play. DICE the masters of FPS war games (can be argrued) does not dissapoint with this bout of battlefield fever.
You have 4 classes. All with different skill sets and reasons to be on the battlefield tearing it up. Assault, Medic, Recon and Engineer. I appluad DICE for condensing the classes into 4 instead of having alot of different ones that make other useless (i'm looking at you BF2). This also works in conjunction with the Squad system.
Squad system is just that. You can pick to be in a squad of 4. You can spawn on them, chat with them and it works best when you work together. It's a great way to localize the work you do together instead of spewing commands all over the match you have people there to hold you up. They look after you and sticking with them is how to win.
The ranking system has been improved to make it where this isn't a play a day and unlock everything kind of game. Every class has a customizable loadout with new toys unlocked frequently. Unlocks sometimes are tied directly to that class and require you too achieve a certain amount of points to get that certain unlock such as the medics defib paddles or sensor ball for the recon class. Also there are perks for vehicles, soldiers and so on.
Teamwork. This is what makes the game so rich. You can not, I repeat CAN NOT win without teamwork. Lonewolfing will not do it. Your team WILL lose. This is not MW2 where you run around for 15 min trying to find campers. You're in a battlefield, working together, pushing forward, fighting for one common goal. Losing isn't an option you must win. Losing is NOT an option.
Next thing I'd like to talk about is the destruction system. Frostbite 2.0 provides amazing expiriences in this game. collapsing buildings, holes you can hide into, walls and cover being struck down and exposed bases being ripped apart. Nothing compares it makes for some of the best times you'll have when you're holding off the attackers and your area is being ripped down cover slowly decreasing, bulidings creaking and losing stations. These things change the battlefield dramtically and can mean the win or loss of your team. all, yes all buildings can be destroyed to a degree and change the game.
There are also your standard fanfare of vehicles too, tanks, ATVs, helicopters, jeeps, UAV and AA guns. Expect vehicle warfare too be instense and adding more "oh shit" moments to the game.
You have 4 gamemodes with this package. Conquest which composes of your team holding various postitions on the map untill you drain the other teams tickets. Rush where you destroy M-COM stations defended by the other team you set charges and move on, but watch out you have tickets and every death counts towards your loss.
There are 2 new gamemodes to the series which i haven't got a chance to play, Squad rush and squad deathmatch.
To sum this all up. Battlefield: bad company will deliver epic multiplayer battles like no other game. Dice once again proves they have mastered the multiplayer side of things and this game blows MW2 out the water by all means.
Expect continued service as with all BF games. Buy a new copy of the game and you recieve FREE maps and content under EA's 10 dollar plan.
Nothing compares to Battlefields online. Dice once again has perfected multiplayer war shooters. Prepare for epic battles, memorable moments and shit your pants moments and some of the best fun you will have this year on your console or PC.
Overall this game has no equal when it comes to online warfare, but singleplayer doesn't deliver a amazing expirience although it is enjoyable.
If you enjoy FPS, previous BF games or like good games then I reccomend this highly. Multiplayer alone warrants a buy and single player is a bonus. I cannot say enough good things about this game.
Fool! You need to
